You can press space to ribbit and nearby frogs will ribbit back. Not sure what else the game does but definitely worth a try if that's your thing.

Mudborne is being created by ellraiser, one half of the indie-dev studio, TNgineers. A spiritual successor of sorts to Mudborne Gameplay APICO, Mudborne instead focuses on genetic manipulation and generational puzzles to create and discover all sorts of frog species, with experimentation being encouraged.

using the empyrean variant instead of the normal variant makes Pondmother cutscene stuck on only you going up instead of also the hat guy, even though the pondmother accepts the sleeping variant
